Core Values
A recent sermon by Pastor Evans expresses the Core Values of Wildwood.
- Doctrinal Clarity: We must affirm a set of Biblical truths for which we must be willing to die. We embrace Reformation Theology: salvation through Christ alone by grace alone through faith alone. Reformed Theology is expressed in the Westminister Confession of Faith.
- Personal Integrity: Ephesians 4:1; We believe that we must display a close relationship between our public and our private life; between inner thoughts and outward actions. Our faith is more than simply controlling external sin.
- Relational Unity: John 13:34-35; We believe that the best test of one's spiritual health is not only the avoidance of certain sins; but the capacity for Sacrificial Love. Sacrificial Love is the chief mark of the Christian and the best evidence that Jesus is the Son of God.
- Community Responsibility: Acts 1:8; We believe that we are situated in this community for a reason. Each church has a geographical center. This community is our Jerusalem. We desire to Build Bridges into our community. Building Bridges is not mostly doing ministry 20 or 20,000 miles away. It is not building or capital campaigns. It is another way of describing our responsibility to share the Gospel with the people who live around us.
