New 2007 Policies
General Fund Contributions
The Wildwood General Fund revenue provides for the operation of the church in general. This includes employee compensation, the cost of operating our facilities, ministry operating expenses as well as home and international missions ministries. We believe that the tithe is 10% of a family’s gross income and that this “first fruits” of a person’s labor is to be returned to the LORD. Our hope is that our members would support the Wildwood General Fund with their tithe.
In addition to the tithe, our hope is that our members would give additional offerings and gifts to ministry opportunities at Wildwood. We believe that these gifts may be designated to ministries where the giver has been led by the Spirit to support. Examples of designated giving would be “Our Father’s Storehouse”, “Hope Street Missions Uganda” and the “Building Bridges Capital Campaign Fund”.
New Finance Policies for 2007
The following policies were approved on December 14th, 2006 by the Executive Session:
- Designated Fund contributions for previous years and Designated Fund year end cash balances will be considered in the formulation of the following year’s General Fund budget.
(Unspent General Fund budget allocations do not carry forward to the following year’s ministry budget, whereas unspent Designated Funds carry forward and are available for spending in subsequent years.) - Designated Fund contributions for specific budget line items may be used to offset the General Fund commitments for that specific budgeted line item.
