Meet Our Deacons

Wildwood Deacons
"Here for You"

"...whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever."
I Peter 4:11b

The Diaconate at Wildwood was established to serve the needs of the church community.  When a community member is facing a challenge that is more than they can handle, the Deacons at Wildwood can help.  As servants of the church, we meet all kinds of needs for all kinds of people.

  • Financial Needs: The Diaconate at Wildwood manages a Deacon Fund that is established through direct contributions from Wildwood members and attendees to assist in alleviating crisis financial needs of the Wildwood family and the surrounding communities.  Some examples are rent, car payments, medical payments and insurance payments.  For financial needs that are beyond a one-time gift, the Diaconate can coordinate budget counseling and evaluate those needs on a month-to-month basis.
  • Physical Needs: The Diaconate also meets the physical needs of the church community.  The types of physical needs varies; but represents either needs that are at a crisis level or cannot be met by the efforts of the individual member.  Some examples are removing fallen trees from homes, minor home repairs and providing assistance with moving.  For those needs which are beyond the scope of the Deacons in service, we can provide a list of local resources to address them.
  • Referrals: You may not need our services at this time; but you may know someone who does.  Please contact us directly or encourage them to do so.  Many do not know that we are here and can help.

How to Reach Us: To alert us of a need, please call our Mercy Hotline at 894-1400, ext. 284.  The individual with a need or anyone with concerns for others can call in to the hotline and leave a message.  The Mercy Team will follow up with and direct the individual in need to the most appropriate ministry.  All calls are handled in a confidential manner.

Contribute to the Deacon Fund: Deacon Fund contributions can be made through freewill offerings at any time or through the special offering envelope provided in the  bulletin on the second Sunday of each month.
